Eureka Heights Turns 10: A Look Back at the Beers, People, and Little Moments That Got Us Here

May 8, 2026 5:09 pm Published by Leave your thoughts

When Eureka Heights opened in Houston Heights in 2015, the goal was simple: brew good beer.

A decade later, that idea stretched beyond the bar.

It became iconic beer brands and labels, Saturday hangs, birthday meetups, company happy hours, visiting-friend introductions, pinball nights, beer releases, and plenty of “I was only going to stay for one” situations.

Ten Years Ago, We Took a Leap in the Heights

We wanted people to feel comfortable trying craft beer here, whether they knew exactly what they liked or had no clue where to start.

That meant:

  • A beer menu for people trying craft beer: New to craft beer? Cool. We’d help you find a pint, then let you decide what you liked.
  • A taproom people wanted to hang out in: Come in for a beer, stay for pinball, the food truck, or whatever your friends talked you into.
  • A neighborhood feel from the start: The mission was never to be the loudest, fanciest, or most serious brewery in Houston. It was to make beer people enjoyed drinking and create a place where they wanted to stick around.

That part worked out better than we could have planned.

Our First Loves: Mini Boss and Buckle Bunny

Mini Boss IPA and Buckle Bunny were around when Eureka Heights was still new, and we’ve had a soft spot for them ever since.

What’s Changed (And What Hasn’t)

1. Our Beer List Expanded

The beer board looks a lot different than it did in year one. More styles, more releases, more reasons to check what’s on tap. But the standard stayed the same: the beer has to be interesting, approachable, consistent, and fun.

2. Our Cans Started Showing Up Around Town

Eventually, Eureka Heights started showing up outside the brewery. You can find our beer in grocery stores, restaurants, bars, kitchen fridges, backyard coolers, tap walls, and party tables across Houston.

3. The Pinball Arcade Became Part of the Fun

Pinball definitely became part of the taproom rhythm. It gave people something to do between beers, without ever replacing the beer. It works for date nights, friend groups, regulars, league players, and total beginners alike.

Blaming the machine after a bad score remains fully allowed.

4. Events Got Bigger, Busier, and Way More Varied

Queso Bowl brought teams and judges and a lot of strong opinions about cheese. Hot wing competitions filled the room with people who overestimated themselves in the best way. We’ve also had Hootenanny, 713 Day, trivia nights, beer releases, and parties that made it out of the group chat.

Frequently Asked Questions

Where can I find Eureka Heights beer outside the taproom?
You can find Eureka Heights beer at select retailers, restaurants, bars, and tap walls around Houston and beyond. Availability changes by release, season, and location, so check our Brew Finder for the latest updates.

Can I host a birthday, company event, or private party at Eureka Heights?
Of course! Eureka Heights hosts birthdays, company happy hours, retirement parties, team gatherings, reunions, and other private or semi-private events.

We’ve got beer, lots of space, pinball, and people who can help you figure out the setup.

Does Eureka Heights still have pinball and taproom events?
You bet. Pinball is all part of the fun, and events continue throughout the year.

Depending on the week, you might find a beer release, trivia night, competition, private party, or something that sounded questionable at first and worked out anyway.

All Thanks to You

Ten years is a long time to keep a taproom full, and we don’t take that lightly. You showed up when we were new and figuring it out. You came back when we got better. You brought your friends, your coworkers, your regulars crew, and your out-of-town guests who needed somewhere good to go.

Eureka Heights turns ten because you kept walking through our doors. So thank you, genuinely, for a decade of showing up. We’re not done yet, and we’re glad you’re still here.
