Can’t Pick an IPA? How Our IPA Variety Pack Solves That
September 18, 2026 9:10 am Leave your thoughtsAsk ten people what makes a good IPA and you’ll get about fifteen answers, two arguments about haze, and one person who says the word “dank” with total sincerity. The category has grown enormous, and the label copy stopped being useful somewhere around the fourth adjective.
That’s the problem the IPA Variety Pack solves. Four IPAs pointed in four different directions, and no label decoding required.
How the Variety Pack Picks For You
IPA stands for India Pale Ale, a style built around hops, and it runs from light and easy all the way to big and strong. The four cans in our variety pace show you that whole range in one sitting.
Four Styles In One Box
These are four different beers, not one recipe with the settings nudged around. Business Casual is the light one, Mini Boss is the fruity and bitter one, and Final Boss and Final Boss Hazy are the two big ones, with the hazy coming out smooth and cloudy rather than sharp. Whichever end you turn out to like, one of them is built for it.
Session To Imperial, In Order
When trying the pack, we recommend starting with Business Casual first, then Mini Boss, then the two Final Bosses, which land at the same strength as each other. Going the other way means the strongest one flattens everything after it, so you lose the differences you opened the box to find.
Finding The Six-Pack You’ll Repeat
The one you finish first is the one to buy again. All four are sold on their own as six-packs year round, so once the box has told you which is yours, you can pick it up by name instead of standing in the aisle deciding all over again.
The Four IPAs in the Box
The first two climb in strength, and the last two are identical on that front, so what separates them is how bitter they are.
1. Business Casual

Business Casual is the one you can drink all afternoon. It smells like strawberry and citrus, tastes like bright orange, and carries almost none of the bitterness that puts people off IPAs. At 4.5% alcohol it’s no stronger than a regular lager.
Where it fits:
You want an IPA and you also want to remain a functioning adult. This is the one that lets you have both.
2. Mini Boss

Mini Boss is the hoppiest one. Tropical fruit and citrus arrive first, then a grapefruit bitterness takes over and hangs around well after you swallow. It’s the most bitter beer in the box, which is exactly why it stands up to spicy food instead of getting lost underneath it.
Where it fits:
Food that pushes back. This is the can to open when dinner has some heat on it.
3. Final Boss

Final Boss is the strong one. Citrus and mango come first, with darker fruit underneath and a sweetness that keeps 8.4% alcohol from tasting harsh. That’s nearly double the alcohol of Business Casual, so plan on taking your time with it.
Where it fits:
Every lineup needs one beer with some swagger. Open it when the evening is free, because it’s going to take a good chunk of it.
4. Final Boss Hazy

Final Boss Hazy is just as strong as Final Boss, but it doesn’t drink that way. It pours cloudy and thick, smells like peach and pineapple, tastes like melon and papaya, and measures no more bitter than Business Casual despite carrying nearly twice the alcohol. That softness hides the strength, which is worth remembering when you reach for a second.
Where it fits:
The soft, fruity end of the range. If bitterness is the part that usually puts you off, start here.
Frequently Asked Questions
The shelf life of an IPA is around 90 days, shorter than the 120 days of a pilsner and cream ale. Hop aroma fades faster than malt character, so an older IPA tastes flatter and less fragrant rather than actually spoiled.
It’s softer. Hazy IPAs are brewed with wheat and oats, which leaves them cloudy and gives them a thicker feel that takes the edge off the bitterness. If sharp, bitter beer isn’t your thing, hazy is usually where you land, and Final Boss Hazy is where to start.
Usually both. Session just means lower in alcohol, but brewers tend to pull the bitterness back at the same time, since a lighter beer with a heavy bitter finish is no fun to drink twice. Business Casual is one of our session IPAs, and it’s the friendliest can in the box if you’re still deciding how you feel about the style.
Find the IPA You’ll Keep Buying
Picking an IPA gets a lot easier once you stop treating it as one decision you have to get right. Four cans, one evening, and the category stops being a wall of adjectives.
