The Top 5 Best Houston Beers of Eureka Heights
July 25, 2025 6:45 pm Leave your thoughtsWe’re definitely not biased or anything…
Alright, we’re just going to come out and say it – we make some damn good brews in our little corner of the Heights. After years of perfecting our recipes, dealing with Houston’s “surface of the sun” summers, and watching y’all come back for more, we’ve got a pretty solid read on what makes our taproom tick.
So grab a cold one (preferably ours) and let us tell you why these seven beers have earned their spot as Houston’s finest. And yes, we’re absolutely going to toot our own horn here.
The Top Beers We Recommend in our Houston Taproom
1. Buckle Bunny

The Golden Child That Started It All
This 4.5% ABV Buckle Bunny cream ale won a 2017 Great American Beer Festival Gold Medal, which is basically the Olympics for beer. It’s got sweet corn flavors, it’s super drinkable, and it won’t knock you on your ass in Houston heat.
Best for: Pretty much any time you want a beer that tastes good and won’t ruin your day.
2. Mini Boss

The IPA That Doesn’t Hate Your Palate
At 6.8% ABV, this Mini Boss IPA has plenty of hop flavor without being bitter just to be bitter. You get tropical fruit flavors like tangerine and guava from Citra and Mosaic hops, but it’s balanced enough that you can actually enjoy it.
Think of it as the IPA for people who like IPAs but also want to taste other flavors in their life.
Best for: When you want hops but also want to remain friends with your taste buds.
3. 713 Pilsner

Houston Pride in a Glass
Named after our area code because we’re proud Houstonians. This German-style 713 Pilsner is 5.1% ABV and tastes like biscuits and bread with a little hop bite at the end.
It’s crisp, clean, and perfect for surviving Houston summers. Seriously, this beer was made for hot weather and tacos.
Best for: Any day ending in “y” when you live in Houston.
4. Final Boss Series (Final Boss, Final Boss Tropical, Final Boss Hazy)

The Imperial Trilogy That Levels Up Your Night
Why make one Imperial IPA when you can make three completely different ones? Because we’re overachievers, that’s why. Each Final Boss clocks in at 8.4% ABV and brings its own personality to the party.
Final Boss (Original) is the OG with tropical berries, peach, and pear flavors. It’s surprisingly smooth for an 8.4% beer, which means it’s dangerous in the best possible way.
Final Boss Tropical is perfect for hammock time and long pool days. This one tastes like vacation in a can with its big pineapple flavor and sweet finish.
Final Boss Hazy is our entry into the hazy IPA world with Citra and Mosaic hops. Soft, juicy, and tropical – like drinking a fruit smoothie that happens to get you buzzed.
Perfect for: When you want to boss up your evening and possibly make some questionable decisions.

5. Business Casual

The Beer for When You’re Professionally Relaxed
Sometimes you need a beer that says “I’m an adult with responsibilities” but also “I know how to have fun.” That’s Business Casual – serious enough for after-work drinks, fun enough for weekend shenanigans.
Best for: Happy hours when you want to seem both professional and approachable.
That’s a Wrap, Folks (Or Should We Say “Taps”?)
Look, we could have made this list longer – we’ve got plenty of other beers that deserve love. But these seven are what we consider the best Houston beers. They keep our fridges empty and our hearts full.
Whether you’re a craft beer veteran or someone who’s still figuring out that beer comes in colors other than yellow, we’ve got something here that’ll make you happy. Use our Brew Finder page to see what’s available near you, or just come hang out at the taproom in Houston, Texas. We’ve got arcade games, food trucks, and cold beer.
And hey, if you think we got this list totally wrong, let’s hear it! We love a good beer argument, especially when it involves drinking more beer to prove our points.
